About Us

 Welcome Pastures began with our Thoroughbred, Forces Sweetheart, who came to the farm for rest and recovery following a minor injury. Her temporary stay became a permanent home, inspiring us to help

 other Thoroughbreds after their racing careers.

Today, Welcome Pastures Thoroughbred Aftercare provides retired racehorses with individualized care on our 52-acre farm. Some horses need rehabilitation and training for a second career, while others need a safe place to enjoy lifelong retirement. We give each horse the time and attention needed to determine the best path forward.

Our donors, volunteers, and community make this work possible. Your support helps us care for the horses who call Welcome Pastures home and welcome more Thoroughbreds in need.
